
2018 Porsche GT3RS Revealed!
At last we get to see a preview of the new 2018 991.2 GT3RS. Likely being the last of the 991 generation lineup. The official press release was released by Porsche Motorsports themselves. Official public debut of the GT3RS will be happening in the Geneva Motor Show in Palexpo, Le Grand-Saconnex, Switzerland in March.
The pictures released by Porsche showcases their brand new color known as Lizard Green. Moving onto the technical specs, the new model receives an extra 20 horsepower, resulting in 513 hp at around 8,250 rpm. The engine continues to rev up to 9,000 rpm and comes with the standard 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung(PDK) gearbox. The manual transmission will not be an option, no surprises there. Word on torque is yet to be declared but is expected to remain the same with 339 lb-ft (460 Nm) at 6,250 rpm.
As a result of the extra gained horsepower, the car now does 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds, which is a tenth of a second faster than the previous model. Top speed is up by 2 mph resulting in a top speed of 312 km/h (193 mph).
The exterior of the car has also been tweaked slightly. The new GT3RS will receive two new NACA Ducts on the hood, identical to the GT2RS. At the back, the rear tail lamps and rear bumper has been revised and the rear wing has a new design to it. The wheels at the front measure at 20 inches and 21 inches at the back. They come with 265/35 and 325/30 tires, respectively.
